Oils for Intimacy: Blends for Pleasure & Love
The Oxford dictionary defines an aphrodisiac as “a food, drink, or drug that stimulates sexual desire”. But I also want to add to essential oils to that definition because essential oils can be VERY powerful aphrodisiacs!
doTERRA essential oils are beautiful natural tools and can be used topically (on your body) and aromatically (inhaled in the air). In fact, many can be used internally!
I want to introduce you to the magic of using doTERRA essential oils in the bedroom. I highly encourage you to give these ideas a try and let me know what you think!
Using oils in the bedroom is super simple and has many benefits:
Increasing arousal
Stimulating pleasure centers of the body
Creating connection
Helping balance hormones naturally
Can aid in fertility
My husband and I love using oils for intimacy. Enjoy this helpful guide and be sure to download my free Intimacy Blends printable! And if you’re brand new to oils, email me and I’ll send you some samples to help you get started.
3 Ways to use Oils for Intimacy:
Sensual Massage
A sensual massage is made even better using doTERRA oils.
Most intimacy balms have synthetic ingredients. I created this all-natural recipe as a nontoxic alternative!
I love the Aphrodisiac Massage Blend. This blend combines the intense aphrodisiac powers of Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang with the motivating qualities of Clary Sage and Wild Orange. Whether you create this blend for your partner, your self or both, these oils together are enjoyable and so much fun!
Another great massage idea is my “Pleasure balm”. This one is fairly simple: Peppermint or Geranium and raw cocoa butter! I recommend a ratio of 1 drop Peppermint per tablespoon of cocoa butter for a tingling, stimulating sensation. (Make sure to download my Intimacy Blend Guide to print out all the recipes!)
Incorporate doTERRA oils into a sensual massage and your partner is sure to be hooked…
Make a Spray
Spritzing yourself or your space with oils can set the mood and increase desire!
I love the “Sexy Sheets” blend. In a 4oz glass spray bottle, pour 10 drops of doTERRA Passion blend and fill the rest with distilled water. Passion blend is sweet and spicy - perfect for spritzing your sheets!
Using distilled water is helpful because unlike regular tap water it will keep the spray fresh and free of any mold, so it will last a while.
I spray my sheets, but I also love to spray oils into my hair for an alluring aroma. In fact, when I began dating my husband I made a spray with Vetiver essential oil and Whisper blend and sprayed it into my hair. He LOVED it!
Use your Diffuser
An essential oil diffuser is a powerful tool! It is a small machine that helps you vaporize essential oils into your air so that you can breathe them in, reaping the benefits all day long. All you need is water and oils.
Think about this. We smell delicious food cooking and our body realizes that we’re hungry. Physically and mentally, we respond to the aromas of food cooking - we salivate, our stomach starts to grumble, and we think “Mmmm, how long until dinner?” Oils are like that! Diffusing essential oils also interacts with the olfactory system, sending important chemical messages to the brain. Diffusing essential oils is like magic.
When you want to set the mood, diffuse aphrodisiac essential oils! I love diffusing doTERRA Cinnamon to fill the air with a spicy, playful aroma. Just a few drops of Cinnamon in your diffuser can create an intimate environment.
Or, perhaps it’s been a while. You want something that is an aphrodisiac, and encourages a more consistent healthy libido. Diffuse Sandalwood! Drop a few drops into your diffuser.
Safety Guidelines:
Start small.
doTERRA essential oils are super powerful - if you have sensitive skin, begin by doing a patch test in your arm before you do anything else. Even a single drop of doTERRA essential oil can be stimulating, so start small and increase your usage from there.Dilute your essential oils with a carrier oil!
A carrier oil is a scent-free oil such as almond oil, fractionated coconut oil, jojoba oil or cocoa butter. Diluting essential oils means combining them with a carrier oil. Diluting is great because it spreads the essential oil evenly across the skin, helping the essential oil be evenly absorbed! It also helps your oils last longer because just a couple drops of essential oil go a long way in a carrier oil.If you have sensitivity or a reaction to the oils, remove them using a carrier oil, not water.
Water can drive them deeper into the skin. Use a carrier oil such as coconut oil, olive oil or any cooking oil to gently wipe the essential oil off the skin.I only recommend doTERRA essential oils, for their purity and potency.
I trust that they are ethically sourced and do not contain contaminants. Make sure you trust your source for tested, effective essential oils!
I hope this guide helps you incorporate doTERRA oils into your intimate life!
